🔹 Political System: Democratic Republic (actually controlled by conglomerates and gangs)
🔹 Template: Similar to modern Taiwan, with complex politics and significant gang influence
🔹 Geography: A large island in the southwest (shaped like Taiwan)
The Changfeng Republic is located on a large island in the southwest, characterized by a longitudinal, mountainous terrain and narrow coastal plains. The island is rich in specific minerals and medicinal herbs, and its strategic geographic position makes it a vital hub for maritime trade.
Its predecessors were exiles and rebellious forces from the Shuntian Dynasty who established a "republican" system on the island, championing "rule by the people." However, it gradually evolved into a system dominated by wealthy merchants and underworld organizations. although nominally a "Republic," it is effectively controlled by major conglomerates and gang organizations. Political and criminal interests are deeply intertwined, creating a situation of "surface democracy, actual plutocracy."
In name, the governing mechanism of the Changfeng Republic is an "Elected Parliament" or "Changfeng Public Hall," composed of representatives and local gentry elected from various towns, responsible for legislation and foreign relations. In practice, most representatives who can get elected or hold power come from wealthy merchant families or have close ties to gang forces. Although the common people can still voice their opinions—and there is a tradition of street oratory and public debate—these are often manipulated behind the scenes by powerful families and gang sects, leaving society in a state of "apparent freedom with surging undercurrents."
The country occasionally clashes with the Shuntian Dynasty, but due to severe internal factional struggles, it has never been able to form a powerful, unified force.
